Krakow Rug
The popular Polish folk craft ‘Wycinanki’, the art of intricate paper cut-outs, inspired the pattern of our Krakow rug. Originated by shepherds who would cut designs out of bark and leather. This then evolved into colourful works of art drawn on furniture or roof beams as decoration, hung in windows, and given as gifts.
This rug is meticulously hand made by skilled craftsmen using a ‘tufted’ technique. Hand tufted using 100% New Zealand Wool, the design is a combination of a low loop pile and higher cut pile which emphasises the motif and brings textural interest to the design. Our rugs are produced under the GoodWeave label, which ensures that no child, forced or bonded labour was used in the making of our certified rugs. In addition your purchase supports programs that educate children and ensure decent workplace conditions for adults.
Custom colour & sizes available for the Krakow rug. You can purchase our Pompom Palette to help you in making your colour selection. This is fully refundable when returned.
